*squeal* so cute! But taking care of these cats is a major time and love investment. I detest people who buy purebred animals then neglect them. Pinoys love buying Persian cats and Golden Retriever dogs, then they don't brush the cats and cage up the dogs. Senseless! Newsflash to those morons: Animals are living beings, in case you didn't know.

The Cat Show by the Feline Fanciers of the Philippines at Galleria yesterday rocked! Talo na si Siopao; some of the cats here were like thrice his size. Mmm, kitty goodness...
Dave Barry's Blog
Here are links to articles he linked on his blog. The first is about why you should be more sensitive to ketchup stains; they take precedence over the death of a loved one in the family.
The second is eerily reminiscent of UP; the school screwed up a mailing and embarrassed 119 students in the process. Shades of my friend Cliff, who was locked out of UP for a whole year because the Registrar lost his files!

Longtail's Pouch

That's our housekeeper and cat disciplinarian Mila holding up Longtail. We have three cats who look alike: Longtail, Chinky, and Marina. All three have white bodies, three-colored tails and heads, and one or two circles on the backs of their necks ^_^ Anyway, if you look closely, Longtail has a pouch/belly. The vet told us it's nothing to worry about, it's just excess fat ^_^ in the area where she was operated on (for neutering; all our pets are neutered so that we don't contribute to cat overpopulation in our area. One neighbor has over 100!)
So my cats and I all have pouches! Hee hee.
If you hold them all up in this way, the pouch pooches out. Polar Bearball noticed it and once asked me to jiggle their feet, as it makes the pouch jiggle too. I figure the cat's annoyed enough as it is. Oh, and the brown figure in the back is half of our Siamese, Doc Ling. :) It's as if he can smell a photo session! When I took photos of my bedroom for posting here, he was in nearly half the photos.
He's our resident slutty cat; when we have visitors, he goes crazy and makes pa-cute to death: rubs against them, rolls over and exposes his belly, and so on. Visitors love him. ^_^
The Battle Between Good and Evil Continues...
This came from the Banzai Cat's blog (thanks!) and I've been meaning to reproduce it for some time now. Since we bathe our cats, we can relate ^_^

More YHHBT Moments
Once, upon arriving at my old tambayan, I declared in a cheerful, chipper voice, “Today is a good day!” Whereupon E turned to me and asked, “O, tapos?” (And then?)
Longish pause. Then E continued: “Alam mo, me punchline si Charlene kaso bukas pa dadating kaya hihintayin ko na lang.” (You know, Charlene’s got a punchline, but it’ll come tomorrow so I’ll just wait for it.)
YHHBT Moment 5: Sowing the Seeds
Goldie Golds was leafing through my old logbook and came across an entry written by another friend whom we had once chastised for his indiscriminate sexual habits. Said entry went, “Hey Charlene, I’m horny, I’m always horny. I can’t help it. Aaaah!” Goldie Golds then grinned, and said, “Oh, so that’s why he loves sowing his seed in fallow fields.”

YHHBT Moment 4: Ex Factor
To The Model’s credit, he was friendly; he walked over and greeted me. Polar Bearball took one look at him and sneered; I knew I was in for serious trash talk re my taste in men later. I tried to avert disaster by introducing them, then claiming we were late for a prior appointment.
Unfortunately, Polar Bearball took aim and got a shot in before we left. Smiling broadly, he shook The Model’s hand and said in a mock-cheerful voice, “So you’re the sort of bloke whose muscles won’t quit and whose mind hasn’t begun?”
Luckily, The Model missed the insult completely and thanked him; thank heaven for small mercies.

I bought this (yes, it rocks for sugar junkies!) and would appreciate it if someone could decipher "cockies"? Showed this to a friend who can speak Japanese and he wasn't sure what it meant either. Can anyone help before my brain convinces me it's something dirty?
You Can't Buy Breeding
1. Polar Bearball (upon leaving the theater after the movie): "I told you the Clone Wars cartoon had better actors."
2. Text message sent by Polar Bearball (so fanatic, he can cite the mythology in the books!) to all his friends after being appalled by the movie--line semi-ripped off from a comment I made: "Tonight, I'm saying goodbye to my childhood. Just saw SW III and I refuse to believe my childhood sucked as badly as the movie did."
3. Most memorable in-theater reaction to the movie: Guy two rows behind us started snoring...loudly and, oddly enough, melodically...halfway through the movie. He didn't wake up until the movie was over.
-O-
Polar Bearball and I haven't been to a movie theater since Harry Potter III. We tend to get verrry angrry at talkative people, pigs behind us (and I apologize to all real pigs) who put their feet on OUR headrests, and other such nuisances. Hey, if we're gonna pay the price of an original VCD per person to enter the theater, I sure as hell had better have a good time in there.
We thought going to Rockwell in Makati would solve the problem. After all, our friend Mayette once misplaced her expensive cellphone in Rockwell, and it was returned in six hours. I thought the people there would have better manners.
Stupid, stupid, stupid me. I am an idiot.
Should've listened to my common sense. A person's ability to fork over cash does not translate into the ability to show the most basic respect for other people.
Since I was tired, I didn't pick a fight, though I did glare at the bitch behind me who insisted on kicking my seat at least fifty times during the movie. (I kept track; it was better than listening to the dialogue). She and her boyfriend also had their feet on the backs of our headrests. I note that when the lights came on, both had fair skin and fairly expensive gear.
The gaggle of geese, er, girls to my right kept babbling throughout the movie. Here's a sample of their speech, and I am not making this up: (use colegiala pseudo-California accents)
"Eew. Like, ohmygod, eew."
"Yah! And so...ohmygod, Anakin is so...(squeal) dreamy! As in!"
"No, Obi-Wan is cuter. Like really!"
"Yah, but he so like gets old in the original movies. And the voice is so, eew, old."
You'd think that wealthy Pinoy pseudo-California girls with multiple cellphones would have better manners, but the one who was a seat away from me kept her feet right on top of the seat in front of her. Her other foot rested on the other side of the guy in front...who spent the movie framed by an expensive pair of Nikes. Like eew.
I figure watching movies at a cheaper mall is better. But given the price to pay, I'd rather wait for the movie to come out on original VCD; a year later, it'll be on sale at two for P 150 anyway.
Or I could turn to the Dark Side and go pirated DVD.
Either way, it'll keep me away from cinema boors and allow me to fast forward past George Lucas' love scenes.
