Rant: Sleeping with Discord
Was supposed to post something funny, but got sidetracked formatting it. This is primal whining. Skip it if you don't like whininess.

I filed my resignation letter from UP yesterday, and the responses have been strange. Only students are telling me not to go. One colleague I adore, H.A., who was my teacher in freshman year, encouraged me and told me to go out where I was happy. (See why I love her?) Another one, though, made an odd comment about me looking better these days. "Nakatakas ka lang sa pagtuturo, gumanda ka na?" I smiled weakly because I had no idea how to respond to that.
NR told me to come back after three years, then mentioned her daughter's having written for the Bulletin before. Another one chose to ignore me, which was a good thing, because I know she slipped a poison letter in my pigeonhole about a year ago; I just don't have proof.
It's just sad that it's the students who are asking me not to go, not my colleagues.
